Chelsea Arts Collective -
Chelsea Arts Collective (CAC) is a new, grassroots initiative masterminded by the painter (and Sutton Estate resident) Lilia Pegado and veteran arts journalist Donald Hutera (The Times, etc). Operating under the auspices of CATS, and with initial funding from City Living, Local Life, CAC aims to provide residents of the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea – and others – with opportunities for stimulating creative expression and exchange.
CAC’s focus is two-fold. Pegado’s ongoing visual arts classes adhere pleasurably to the principles of The Quadrangle, a unique and absorbing method of individual and communal art work and thought. (For more information please see http://www.liliapegado.com/)
Alongside this CAC is planning a series of daringly diverse and engaging live performances, curated by the talent-hunting Hutera and spotlighting artists who span generations and genres. There’s every likelihood that CAC will cultivate ‘hidden’ local talent, too!
The initial set of performances occur March 22, March 29 and April 12 in St Luke's Hall, SW3 3RP. Doors open 7.45pm with ‘curtain up’ at 8pm. Admission is free (although donations are gratefully accepted). Suitable for ages 12+. For more detailed info please see http://www.catsinfo.co.uk/ nearer to show time.

Sunken Garden - Today
I joined an number of the residents and Michel Thiell from Groundworks today in the Sunken Garden. I must say at this moment in time i have a few aches and pains, but on the whole i really enjoyed it. Jose managed to get his 'alien ' box up, he informs me its like a bird box - but for Aliens ( or squirrels). There was a real togetherness of the group today - with a number of people saying they never expected to take part, but had thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Sylvia Turner, said she could smell the country, I informed her she was standing next to the horse manure - she said it wasnt that it was the smell of the soil. One of the residents started to do Thai Chi, and a family with a couple of Children who were passing stopped to chat - and the children naturally started to play in the space. It seemed as though more people than ever passed by and stopped to chat, and give their support. A big thanks to Dorinda Montgomory for Co-ordinating today and Gilly Thornton and Mike OHara. Aside from the above , we got lots done, and we will be back on site next Saturday 1st Of March at 1pm for those of you who would like to come along , meet your neighbours, and help to make where we live a nicer place.

Sunken Garden
Saturday The 8th of February saw Groundforce and Volunteers residents of the estate , pick up their tools to try and make the Sunken Garden , what we all want it to be. The weather was not good , but 10 Estate Volunteers toughed it out to make a start. Lots of weeding and mulching, The Bird and Bee Boxes went up, and the tea and cakes went down....very well. We will be in The Sunken Garden again this Saturday, so if you have a couple of hours to spare, then pop along around 2pm. Well done to all those residents who were prepared to give their time, so we can all live in a nicer environment.
Saatchi Gallery
The Adult classes at The Saatchi Gallery are going very well. The Under 18s Section was not very well represented. We reached out to The Rev Brian Leathard at St Lukes Church and the childrens team and i think this Sunday we will see full attendance of The Under 18s Group. Thank you Brian and all at St Lukes.

Parking in RBKC
Dear Resident or Community Association member
For the benefit of our resident permit holders we are increasing the notice period for suspension signs to be erected on street from three days to seven calendar days on resident parking bays.
After 1 January 2014, an application to suspend a permit parking place is required ten working days (Monday to Friday excluding holidays) before the suspension is needed.
This will allow us, from Monday 13 January 2014, to put signs up seven days before a suspension starts andand therefore give residents more notice.
There is no change to the two full notification days required to suspend a pay and display bay.
We hope the enclosed leaflet will be useful to residents who plan to suspend a permit bay in the future. Please distribute this to the members of your association or refer them to view the parking suspension pages on our website at www.rbkc.gov.uk/parking.
Yours sincerely
