The Christmas Truce 20th December Christchurch

Choir and orchestra combine for a joyful blend of carols marking one of history’s most symbolic events of peace and humanity: the ceasefire of Christmas Eve 1914 across the Western Front. Based on real events from 100 years ago, and incorporating scenes from an original new play by Rufus Stilgoe, this is a celebratory and uplifting evocation of Christmas for all ages. Christmas Market in support of Hestia  Saturday 22 November, from 11am – 3pm. Tickets: £4 on the door. The money raised from this event will help women and children across London who have escaped domestic abuse and will now be spending this Christmas in one of Hestia’s refuges, safe and free from fear. Nour Festival announces its 2014 programme  News   Nour Festival of Arts 20 October - 30 November 2014 The Nour Festival, which celebrates contemporary Middle Eastern and North African arts and culture, takes place in October and November at venues across Kensington and Chelsea. The six week festival featuring music, film, food, exhibitions, talks and dance launches on Monday 20 October and runs through to Sunday 30 November. This year, the festival welcomes for the first time new partners such as the Finborough Theatre, the Electric Cinema and the Royal Geographical Society and Westway Presents. Read more »

CATs Committee Needs You!

The CATs AGM is coming up, on 21st November, where the roles of Chairperson, Treasurer, Secretary and Committee Member will be elected. Firstly a form will be handed out in which residents can nominate people for the roles (you can copy more forms if you would like to nominate more than one person for a role) and then voting will begin. We will let you know exactly how to vote as soon as possible. It would be great to have some new faces and fresh ideas so do think about joining. 

As a resident, you may nominate people for the following officer roles, these could be current position holders, or you may wish to nominate someone new or yourself. Below are the officer descriptions taken from the constitution, does one of them describe you?:

Chairperson

1. Shall conduct the meetings of the organisation

Treasurer

1. Shall open and maintain a bank account in the name of the organisation. 
2. All cheques should be signed by the treasurer and one other executive committee member nominated by the committee. 
3. The treasurer shall keep proper accounts of income and expenditure and report at each or relevant committee meetings.

Secretary 

1. Shall be responsible for the convening of all meetings and giving the prescribed notice to all members. 
2. S/he shall ensure that a proper record is kept of all meetings of the organisation, its committee and subcommittees, and shall deliver up such records as required by the committee. 
3. The secretary shall produce records of all meetings and general meetings and make these available to members. 

You can also nominate people for the non-officer role of Committee Member, note this on your nomination form. 

At the AGM the new committee will be elected in, comprised of a new Chairperson, Treasurer, Secretary, and up to 8 Committee Members.

The Committee meet once a month to discuss tenants' concerns and to organise community events.  It's your Chelsea Estate and it's your Vote. Watch this space for  more voting information.

Two week Summer Sports Programme at St Lukes Church: KIDZ Sport In partnership with Epic Youth

KIDZ Sport In partnership with Epic Youth and St Lukes Church are offering  a two week Summer Sports  Programme will take place from Mon 4th – Fri 15th Aug (Mon-Fri) between the times of 9.30am and 5pm. It will have a range of activities happening for 8-13 year olds some of which are taking place in St Luke’s Hall. If you know of children who might want to take part in this fantastic opportunity please get in touch with the Parish Office. Chelsea Flea market and tabletop sale proves a great success!

BREAKING NEWS: New date for next Chelsea Tabletop Sale and Flea Market at The Sunken Garden 16th August 10am to 2pmt there are still tables left to book or just come and grab some bargains!! call 07587 046256 or email committee@catsinfo.co.uk........
The rain held off for our first Chelsea Flea market and table top sale. All 11 tables were booked and there were loads of bargains to be had. Dorinda and Barbara arranged the day which was a real success. The garden is in full bloom now and proved a remarkable backdrop to the day. Annalisa baked a delicious chocolate cake and Dorinda and Chris sold lots of their artists cards. Lots of tenants attended and representatives from Markham Street Residents association and Affinity Sutton which made it a wonderful community day. The next one will be on the 16th August from 10.00am to 2pm. Hope to see you all there!
