THE MAGIC OF CHRISTMAS COMES TO CHELSEa

Tis the season to be jolly, and if theres one date you should mark on your Christmas calendars this year, it's Thursday 4th December.

For one night only, you can hop on board a free horse drawn Victorian style omnibus and head to the western end of the Kings Road and into Fulham where Sloane Stanley and Martins Properties will conjure an evening of unique and festive delights for your entertainment. 

On Thursday 4th December, expect all manner of circus-inspired merriment and mischief, including human ice-sculptures - even stilt walkers, whilst a host of carol singers bring a sense of tradition to the occasion. 

For the second year running, Dovehouse Green on the Kings Road will play host to a 7ft designer Christmas tree, spectacular lights and a whole host of festive wonderments. 

On the night, you'll receive a booklet or you can download it from the website, full to the brim with temping seasonal offers.

Taken from shop to shop on a horse-drawn carriage - we can't think of a better (stress free) way to do our Christmas shopping!

A War Childhood Revisited 1939-1945 Art Exhibition Monday 3 – Monday 10 November. Free. St Cuthbert with St Matthias Church, 51 Philbeach Gardens, London SW5 9EB Bob Barling was born in London just before the outbreak of the Second World War and is now an Earl’s Court resident. This exhibition takes a nostalgic look at the London of the Blitz—the waiting sirens, nights spent in underground stations, ladies painting their legs with tea or cocoa because of the shortage of nylons, evacuations and rationing. It also shows the resilience of childhood; how it was possible, despite the ever-present dangers of war, to enjoy the boyish delights of collecting newts and sticklebacks, playing conkers and building camps on bombsites. The paintings show Bob’s affection for those times - the people drawn with warmth and character, the ‘pulling together’ and community spirit. Each picture is ‘captioned’ by Bob’s poetry, which enhances the action on the canvas. All donations go to the British Legion and War Child charities. The six week festival featuring music, film, food, exhibitions, talks and dance launches on Monday 20 October and runs through to Sunday 30 November.
